  1. Baking soda

Besides its use in making mouth-watering sponge cakes, baking soda is an affordable cooking product that also gets rid of pests. Use baking soda to stop that trail of ants in the kitchen by placing equal parts of powdered sugar and baking soda in a saucer.

You could also use baking soda to get rid of odors in your home. It also works as an abrasive cleaner in combination with vinegar. It will keep your drains clear.

  1. Vinegar

This is an invaluable workhorse for your kitchen. Vinegar is a powerful cleaning product that works even better in combination with baking soda.

You can use baking soda and vinegar to clean your toilet bowl, leaving it sparkling clean and smelling fresh. Sprinkle some baking powder in the toilet bowl and pour vinegar into the bowl. The mixture will create bubbles that will clean, and also disinfect your toilet bowl.

You can also use equal parts of vinegar and baking soda to spiff up those tiled floors.

  1. Salt

Being on the cheapest cooking products, you might think that its only role is to add flavor to food. But, salt could be the cleaning agent you have been looking for. A thick paste of salt with water plus baking soda will spot clean your stained wooden cutting board.

You can also simplify cleaning the over by covering spills with salt. And, that isn’t all. You could also use salt and vegetable oil to get rid of rings on wooden tables when your guests forget about coasters.  Lastly, use salt to clean your cast iron pots and pans.

  1. Liquor

The ethanol alcohol in liquor, beer, or wine could be used as an air freshener. Gin and vodka work better. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to alcohol and the spritz that blend on the bed or sofa linens.

  1. Hydrogen Peroxide

Mix hydrogen peroxide and two parts water for sparkling windows.

  1. Lemons

Thanks to their mild acidic nature, you can use lemons to remove grease and grime quickly. The citrus taste will also leave your kitchen smelling fresh. You could also use lemons to clean brass.

  1. Club soda

If you have stained carpets or fabrics, take your club soda out of the fridge, drab on the stain liberally and then blot and rub the spot away. It also removes streaks on stainless steel.
