Etihad Rail has opened ticket bookings for its upcoming passenger services from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, with fares starting at AED 39 ($10.62) per person. The first service will depart from Al Yalayis Station at 6:15 am on September 30, connecting Dubai with Mohamed bin Zayed City Station in Abu Dhabi in approximately 57 minutes.
Ticket options and discounts
Passengers can purchase tickets through Etihad Rail’s website and mobile app. The rail operator offers Comfort Class and Premium Class cabins, with Saver, Value, and Flex fare options. Children up to 17 years old receive a 50% discount, while passengers aged 60 and above receive a 20% discount. Infants under two years old travel free when seated on an adult’s lap.
Both classes include universal power sockets, USB charging, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Premium Class passengers receive complimentary beverages and snacks, while Comfort Class offers trolley purchases. Seat pitch ranges from 37 to 38 inches in Comfort Class and 39 to 40 inches in Premium Class.
Network expansion and future plans
Al Yalayis Station, located near Jumeirah Golf Estates and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, joins Etihad Rail’s passenger network. The rail operator began scheduled services between Fujairah and Abu Dhabi on June 30, 2026, with over 70,000 tickets sold by August 3, 2026. The fleet currently includes 13 trains, each with a capacity of up to 400 passengers.

Etihad Rail plans to expand its network with the opening of Zayed City and Liwa stations on November 30, 2026, followed by Al Dhafra stations on December 30, 2026. Sharjah Station is scheduled to open on March 30, 2027. The operator aims to connect 11 cities and regions across the UAE.
In a recent development, Etihad Airways and Etihad Rail signed an MoU to explore integrated air and rail connections, including shuttle services between Zayed International Airport and Mohamed bin Zayed City Passenger Station.
Transport infrastructure enhancements
The Al Yalayis site is strategically located near residential, employment, and transport hubs, including Jumeirah Golf Estates, Al Furjan, Dubai Investment Park, and Dubai South. In April 2025, a 1.8-kilometer flyover was opened at Dubai Investment Park to facilitate road traffic alongside rail operations.
